Frequently Asked Questions
How early should I order?
As early as possible! We have been blessed with increasing demand each year since we have started, but that also means our availability is booked quicker and quicker each season.
Do I need a date to order a Mum/garter?
No! This isn’t the 80s boo boo. We support everyone using homecoming mums and garter to celebrate each year. And commemorate who they are now so they can look back in the future.
How do I know which size Mum/Garter to get?
Traditionally, single flowers were for freshman, double flowers for sophomores, triple flowers for juniors, and seniors had triple or quadruple flowers. However, at Mums By MJ we have we have 12 different sizes and shapes for homecoming mums and 7 different sizes and shapes for homecoming garters. Therefore, you can order any size for any grade.
Why is the deposit non-refundable after 24 hours?
We are a small home-based business, and each order takes time and materials. Our time is valuable, and materials are not always able to be repurposed once a mum is started.
Where are you located? Do you have a storefront I can come to?
We are a home-based business located in south-west Arlington near Kennedale High School. We do not have a storefront or allow customers into our home to pick out specific trinkets and ribbons at this time.
Can you make the Mum exactly like a picture I sent?
Yes and no. We can definitely draw inspiration and incorporate different details of a photo if a customer is descriptive. But out of respect for other creators, we do not make copies of other’s work.
How long does it take to make a homecoming mum/garter?
It genuinely depends on a number of factors: the size and colors, any extra activities, how many orders are in our que, etc. However, we guarantee a paid order will be completed 24 hours prior to your homecoming day.
Do you take custom orders for custom shapes?
If reasonable and ordered at an appropriate time, YES! We love a challenge and making new shapes and sizes.
Do we serve LGBTQIA students?
Yes and we do so proudly with love. All are welcome.
